In the online interview the first question you will be asked is where you live and have most of your property. The reason being that different countries are covered by different systems of law and so the correct jurisdiction to which your Will applies needs to be identified first to ensure how you wish for your estate to be distributed can be effective and will apply.

The options in the online interview are:

  • England and Wales

  • Northern Ireland

  • Scotland

  • Somewhere else

If you select 'England and Wales' or 'Northern Ireland' or 'Scotland', the interview will continue as normal.

(If you are based in Scotland, given the law for Wills in Scotland is significantly different to elsewhere in the UK a number of changes will need to be made by the legal firm that conducts your appointment to comply with Scots law. You will not be charged for those changes.)

If you select 'somewhere else', the interview will at this time come to an end as the interview process does not currently accommodate users who have assets outside the UK and you will need to obtain specialist legal advice.
