Bequeathed’s commitment to accessibility

Bequeathed takes the accessibility of our website very seriously and is committed to making it usable by all people, whatever their abilities or disabilities. Our ongoing site development and content creation is guided by best-practice accessibility guidelines such as WCAG 2.1 and ISO 30071-1.

Adapt your experience to your needs

While this site has been created to be usable ‘as is’, some people are likely to get the most accessible experience by customising their computer to suit their individual needs – for example: to get the site spoken to them, to change its colour-scheme, or increase the size of its text.

If that sounds like it would be useful to you, we recommend you visit WAI’s Better Web Browsing: Tips for Customizing your Computer to find information on how these customisations (achieved by using accessibility features already on your computer, phone, or tablet, or through installing assistive technologies) might suit you.

If you have any difficulties customising the site to your needs, please email [email protected] or use the chat function.

Limitations of this site's accessibility

Through auditing our site with accessibility experts and user-testing of our site with people with disabilities, we are aware that there are some accessibility improvements that our site could benefit from, and we have a plan in place to implement these. We are currently working to fix the following issues:

  • We are working to improve the consistency of our site navigation, and the visibility of the mobile menu when text size is increased

  • We are reviewing the amount of text within form legends to improve the experience for screen reader users

  • We are working to ensure all link copy can be easily differentiated when you are reviewing your will data

  • We are working to amend the wording of the charity field input to make it clearer that the field is needed

  • We are working to update the labelling of the “share of residual estate” input to help people understand that it is a percentage figure.

Let us know if you have difficulties

If you find anything on the site difficult to use please contact us.

To help us quickly understand your difficulty, it will help us if you provide the information advised in ‘Contacting Organisations about Inaccessible Websites’ in your request.

All constructive feedback about the accessibility or usability of this website is welcome and will be carefully considered.

This statement was last updated in April 2021 and follows the advice on accessibility statements in ISO 30071-1.
